Summer Library Program
Movies on the Big Screen has moved to the basement of the library. Upstairs, we had too many kids in too little space -- what a wonderful problem! The movies (and free popcorn) will continue on Thursdays at 2:00 PM throughout the summer. So far, we've seen The Golden Compass, The Waterhorse, Surf's Up, and The Spiderwick Chronicles. Coming up are Herbie Fully Loaded, Ratatouille, The Bee Movie, and Enchanted. Suggestions welcome.
At the end of July, we will add Bug Stuff, a program about insects on Tuesdays at 2:00 PM. Although intended for early elementary students, Jill Fuerstenberg can easily adapt the program a little younger or a little older for whoever comes in to find out about a different type of bug each week.

Many Thanks to Lilas Miller
Farm receipts from the 1940's, cancelled checks (written out in pencil!), grocery lists, and newspaper clippings of local interest fill the scrapbooks recently donated by long-time Barneveld resident, Lilas Miller. The seven books span about 45 years and are a wonderful addition to our growing local history collection. We've noticed that while browsing the books, memories are stirred and many library users are prompted to tell stories of their own. Our thanks to Mrs. Miller for her thoughtful gift to the community.
